Dr. Kurtzberg's idea to go to a Private Family-Related banking system is built on greed and a gov't sponsored idea of over inflating the value of stems for profit doesn't seem ethical. Public banks have ran on that same model for years without one news report scrutinizing their practices because they kept throwing "Hey we are free". They have never been "Free" We have been footing the bill as taxpayers for it all and Kurtzberg's trip for another $150 million recently is proof of how much the broken costs.

The news has been hoodwinked in to mistakenly reporting the private companies are "Greedy" and the publics are "Saints". Now we see what the public-private model is really about. It cost each taxpayer $2500/per sample and Kurtzberg's folks have been selling it on the open market to the highest bidder at a time when Life or Death stares them in the face. How is that ethical?

Now it appears the expert advocates for public banking understand from the results of their gov't sponsored 05' demonstration project unrelated is not as good as related UCBs.

Who backed the public unrelated side of the fence? Pharma, the FDA declared allogeneics (unrelated) are drugs. The FDA declared that family-related if not manipulated is not a drug; but if expansion technology were used or if it were manipulated in any other way family-related blood then becomes a drug.

There must be extraordinary news coming to counter the new NMDP launch of family-related banking. The only thing I could think of is pricing for at the EOD the client is the patient but the actual CUSTOMERS paying NMDP ($35k) a pop are INSURANCE Companies. Has the NMDP done Cord Blood America a favor by having the same pricing model now expanded to a public-private model?

Is Afford-A-Cord at $495 our knight in shining armor with huge demand due to lowered pricing when compared to NMDP $2500 upfront (tax payer sponsored) and $35k back-end insurance company billed?
I think so.

With the new NMDP launch of family-related underway will INSURANCE COMPANIES pay CBAI $495/$29 per month for their covered clients with a 'Medical Necessity' no fee to use back in patient at a later date OR do they pay NMDP Kurtzberg and crew an EOD fee of $35k for those same precious stems?

I see CBAI private family-related could have tremendous DEMAND. Does anyone here see something different?
