Why does anyone need to bid support? Won't the MMs try to get as much as they can for their shares? If you constantly raise your bid above the last trade price, won't the MMs, or for that matter, whoever is selling, just make even more money?

Raising the bid may be expensive for the buyers and play into sellers' hands.

JMHO, but it might be better for the team to do the buying at higher and higher prices themselves, rather than rely on the kindness of strangers. Just sayin'
