Don Ricketts graduated from Providence College, Providence, R.I.; Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C.; and the University of Southern California Institute of Business Economics, Los Angeles He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, California, other state courts (to handle specific suits), and several Federal courts.

For approximately 15 years he was employed as General Counsel for the Santa Fe Railway and Senior Trial Counsel for Travelers, Great American and Farmers Insurance Companies.

He has represented individuals and small businesses for almost 30 years in a litigation practice (much of it against insurance companies) that has spanned many areas of law–from relatively simple personal injury and family law cases to complex consumer class actions and commercial litigation.

He has written for popular and professional publications and has been counsel in a number of published appellate opinions. He has acted as a Judge Pro Tem in Los Angeles County Superior Court (Valencia) and is a judge at an annual national moot court competition sponsored by Southwestern University Law School and the law firm of Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP.

He was the subject of a lengthy profile in Los Angeles' leading legal newspaper, the Daily Journal.

He lives in Santa Clarita with his wife of 35 years, Deborah. He has six children and seven grandchildren.
