You're probably right that Delta never had a 'direct' association w/ Amer. Golf....they're separated by many years & a host of separate entities holding title to that corporation/ticker in between....there does , however, appear to an 'in-direct' association....that being the corporation registry & accompanying ticker symbol itself....that's the problem.
I have no idea what it's going to take to get the mis-guided SEC monkey off their back...I'm not sure the SEC has any concept of how to do things the easy way (or listen to 'common sense', for that matter)....that's not usually the style of bureaucracies......grrrrrr. It appears that (in the SEC's eyes) , Delta is guilty until proven innocent....the burden of proof will likely be on Delta & could conceivably get nasty (& expensive... similar to an 'audit') , having to backtrack , document & account for missing paperwork , from a now-dissolved entity out of the past (American Golf). I feel confident that Delta will prevail....the problem is in: 'how long' will all this take !?!
All that being said; I don't see that Delta has done anything wrong here....their filing paperwork seems to be in-order & has been filed in a timely manner (as recently as 6/2/10) , as required.
Hoping for an expedient resolution to this bizzaro clusterf---k
