Yay... Windows apps will run on x86 PCs, x86 tablets, and x86 smartphones. That run Windows.

"Cross-device" does not imply "cross-OS"

Below is what Intel said. There is no reading in between the lines. They are talking about *software* and *software choice* - not OS and OS choice without software. They are talking about consistency of *content* - not consistency of OS without any software. Here is what they said, and it's as plain as day to everyone but you.



Yay. Again, you can choose to run Windows software. As long as the device is running Windows. (Or WINE, the one time Windows software is mentioned as running on a linux-based device: I.e. World of Warcraft.)

Your magic Intel tools to port Windows software to alternative OSs don't exist. And nobody is going to bother with WINE or anything like it on a smartphone.
