Demonstrated cross-device experiences based on Intel's unique 'port of choice' software strategy including Windows*, MeeGo* and Google operating systems.

The sentence above is not ambiguous. It says that - across different devices using different operating systems - Intel has a "port of choice" strategy that will allow an equivalent experience for end-users, and they're already far enough along to have demonstrated it at Computex.

I don't see how a person could read it any other way. At least this guy and this guy get it. There are tons of similar stories which have been posted following Computex that talk about it. Try Google.

And in case you're not yet convinced, here is yet another summary from Intel that highlights software support across operating systems for Atom.

They're just saying you can run Windows apps... On Windows

What's the point of Intel investing heavily in an app store that only targets the OS that already has the greatest existing installed base of software, and which already comes with a distribution model that has access to tens or hundreds of thousands of store fronts world wide? Windows doesn't need a new distribution model to reach end-users. People can go into Best Buy, Office Max, or any one of thousands of online store fronts to buy or download Windows software. So that's obviously not the point of an app store.

The point of having an app store is that it acts as a level playing field for software developers to port their apps across multiple operating systems, while giving them equal access to end-users via the same digital distribution model. That's why the other handset vedors have created their app stores, and that's why Intel is investing in their own app store.

Not so that they can give people more access to Windows apps... On Windows.
