Yep git...besides the environmental impact on the leaking BP gusher I cant help but think about the fact that the oil flowing uncaptured every 24 hours is enough to where anyone with half a brain could easily retire on the proceeds from just the leakage per 24 hours!According to BP numbers they have captured 42,500 barrels of oil in the last 4 days...that in itself is close to $3 million!I still dont know that they have a handle on that which is NOT being captured..might be a lot more! I am really not blaming BP for this mess tho...crap happens...one finger I do point is at the fact that the tree huggers, environmentalists and fed govt have driven these companies away from safe..controllable...shallow water offshore drilling to the extremes and near impossible deep water drilling.Impossible in that they can easily do it with major expense but case in point in the BP situation..can they actually control it if anything at all goes wrong?.Deep water stuff is typically a mile or more down on the ocean floor...if it were not for the idiots pulling the strings they could drill controllably in 300 feet of water or less with no problems that cannot be cured at the drop of a hat! When crap happens a mile straight down its nearly impossible to srtaighten out the problem...robots and video cameras can survive there easily enough but can they really cure the problem? We have news that this retarded administration will begin allowing shallow water drilling again and put folks back to work but the new regs may be ridiculous..I dont know.If so..then what we will face IMO is that almost all offshore will cease where needed and these companies will simply head to the coast of Africa..and I cant say I blame them!...Nuff said from my soapbox tonight!
