Once again my estimates (probably way low or off):

So I got to thinking about the tractor trailer sizes. I Googled the average lengths, widths, heights, etc. Average length =60-70 feet. Width 8 feet and height about the same.

Now imagine the 8" booms (the largest mopn supplies) stacked floor to ceiling. Whether they choose the 10 footers or the 50 footers, it comes out about the same amount of feet of boom.

10 footers = 12 booms wide, 12 booms high, 6 rows deep. 144 x 6 =864 booms per tractor trailer or x 3 trailers = 2592 10´booms.

MOPs price on the website is $128 per boom (although they said they lowered their prices) but at 128 = $331,776 on this first order and once again the PR says weekly orders thereafter.

Even if they get the 50 footers, its about the same, around 25k feet of boom. Really not alot considering the situation but shows that there will be hundreds and hundreds of miles needed still not to mention the loose product for the future.

These are all just my imaginary numbers based on the size of tractor trailers and I am sure I am (hope I am) off by a long-shot. Since those are the only specifics the company gave, we just have to speculate a bit. I am sure the relationship and use of MOP by bp will extend into the multi-millions over the next few years. Once again, speculation on my part. (Economically, BP would save about 200 bucks per boom if they purchase the 50 footers)
