In 1996 when Diamond Fields accepted Inco's offer of the equivalent of $43.50 Canadian per share, they had just under 99 million shares outstanding...making the deal worth $4.3 billion Canadian.
It was not an all cash deal, it was cash and stock.
In 1993 I think they had around 20 million shares out.
