I agree. Although bid sitting is highly important, so is hitting the ask. I think half of the action should be done at the bid and the other half at the ask. Also, if ANYONE is listening, bid support means placing it one hundredth below the ask.
For example, if the bid is .08 and the ask is .084, place the bid at .0849 so that NITE can't get in the way. However, most people place it at .0801 which encourages the market makers to downtick the ask.
Let's compare this to a subpenny P&D spread. If .08 becomes .001, .084 becomes .00105. Most people would chase a stock that's .001x.0013, let alone .001x.00105. This further strengthens my argument that .0801 bid support is for pansies and helps the shorts cover for cheaper. I've hit the ask before and provided bid support.
