Thank you for sharing your straw bale garden with us, Sumisu. My father recently moved into a residential area without ample space for a garden. He already has his tomatoes planted in 5 gallon buckets this year. I do plan on setting him up with the straw bale garden next year. It would be ideal for his situation.

I've been an avid gardener my whole life, I'm looking forward to starting my own straw bale garden with my 2 kids. I just happen to have 6 straw bales taking up space in my garage as we speak. I have the space for a conventional garden, the idea just sounds appealing.

It reminds me of the upside down tomato planter. I did that a few years ago for fun. It worked, but I used a five gallon bucket and about the time the fruit was coming on, the handle broke. That plant still survived and came on strong afterwards.




Man, I know that bottom is around here somewhere.
