Tha Akpo drilling depths are elusive. I have searched for several months and have not been able to find a drilling depth for any of the Akpo wells. If someone can find it documented I hope they post it. Perhaps Pup could help.

The only official JDZ blocks 2,3, and 4 drilling depths are posted on the ERHC web site under the FAQ section. The 3 block 4 wells [ Kina, Malanza, and Oki East] are described as being drilled to the "planned depth". The Bomu was drilled to 3580m and the Lemba to 3758m. Drilling time has been reported to be around 40 days.

In contrast the JDZ block 1 well was drilled to 16,000 feet [5300m] and the drilling time was reported to be 63 days. I have lost my Obo1 drilling reference. If someone has a good description please post it.

As I stated in posted in 213743 my statements were just conjecture or a theory to explain some of the activity occurring in and around the JDZ. Since we do not know the facts yet, I am sure others have their own ideas and I hope they post them. BSK had a valid theory that they drilled fast and shallow for budgetary reasons to save money and squeeze another well or 2 into the drilling program. JMO Good luck, Farrell
