Western Australia's iron ore producers have come out in force as fears of a possible federal resource rent tax spark talk of the state seceding from Australia.

Back in the 70s there was an ongoing W.A. secession movement funded by Iron Ore mining magnate Lang Hancock. Lang died and the movement with him. Maybe he was before his time.

In the last federal election, Labor(Rudd)won in every state except WA.
