Unfortunately the greed is good generation spawned by the likes of the Wall St has accelerated our slide and our standard of living. We have been beholden to big corporations and it has only benefitted very few. Some of our best and brightest went to Wall St were they produced nothing. We need resurgence in science and math or else we can continue on our path downward. We have never been a capitalist system yet the blowhards that worship at it's door decrying socialism have never gotten that we are a combination and have always been a combination of both as we should be.

As a society we have lost any semblance of critical thinking or else how could one explain the abject stupidity of the arguments put forth by the tea party or the Republican politicians on healthcare or financial reform?
