stephanie....and, that's PRECISELY why it's going down the drain....precisely why we are experiencing such an outcry from the population.....
it's all a matter of balance....how much of what does a socio-economic system rely upon.....
there are two facets which must be addressed....the governing system and the economic system....they are co-dependent....
nothing is pure....not capitalism....not communism....and, I mentioed in an earlier post that socialism is really a modern day compromise between those extremes....
and, capitalism works best in a democratic governmental environment...
yes, our system of capitalism has borrowed some socialist/marxist themes....that's ok....
but, I would disagree with a statemnt in one of your earlier posts which equates soc.security and unemployment to socialism....they are "THEORETICALLY" funds which the individual pays into....then, at a given time....draws out...not socialist allocation programs
welfare is socialist....it's a hand-out....
which brings us back to the original premise....BALANCE....
we have reached the point at which there is too much interference in the "capitalist forces".....too much socialist influence....it's a culmination of the damage done over the last century....American capitalism has been purposely choked....
it's all about power....always was...always will be.....
