On 28 March 2010, the board of directors (the “Board”) of China Coal Energy Company Limited (the “Company”) was informed that during the time of construction a flooding accident occurred in Wangjialing Coal Mine, a mine under construction owned by Huajin Coking Coal Company Limited. The Company has 50% shareholding in Huajin Coking Coal Company Limited. As of the date of this announcement, the relevant rescue work is still in progress.
