China Coal Energy 09 Crude Coal Yield Up 8.2%

BEIJING, Jan 28, 2010 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Coal Energy Co., Ltd. (SEHK: 1898; SHSE: 601898), one of the leading Chinese coal producers, aggregately turned out 108.56 million tons of crude coal in 2009, rising 8.2% from a year earlier.

Among the turnout, up to 100.8 million tons were yielded on its own, jumped 10.2%. The company accumulatively produced 4.43 million tons of coke and 5.82529 billion tons of coal mining equipment, separately growing 20.7% and 29.6%.

The coal trading volume of China Coal Energy totaled 96.76 million tons, mounting 9.1% year on year. Notably, it sold 90.49 million tons in the domestic market with a surge of 24.5%, including 87.65 million tons of steam coal and 2.84 million tons of coking coal, up 25.3% and 2.5%, respectively.

The listed company exported 1.31 million tons of coal independently and 2.96 million tons as an agent, separately falling 80.6% and 67.8%. Its coal import amounted to 2 million tons.

In particular, its crude coal output stood at 8.53 million tons in December 2009, slipping 0.8% year on year, but its coal trading volume jumped 35.7% to 9.39 million tons.
