A better question is why

did Wave win the GM order for $5mm and all other competitors, including Winmagic, lose?

Winmagic appears to have put a full court press on winning the health care business in Canada. This is a good niche for them so far but it remains to be seen how they can leverage this to make inroads to the US and global markets.
