The only fact is that you don't understand that people who have traits, are not sickle cell sufferers. It is a genetic impossibility. They do not, nor never will they ever carry the genetic markers needed for SCD. IF they have a child with another trait carrier, then a 1 in 4 chance of becoming a SCD sufferer is possible. Many of the offspring who do fall into that group, and are genetically predisposed to have SCD, are asymptomatic. The other 75% stand no chance of having SCD, ever.
