I don't think that MSFT will be helped by that dividend. It appears that MSFT's management does not have a good idea where to deploy that money, so rightfully, they decided to give it to investors. If I was Gate, I would take half of that money, take a good VC management team and start with that money a VC subsidiary to solve long term the energy problems of this country and the world. Success would put MSFT into a trillion bucks a year market, but I don't think those guys feel comfortable outside of software. Look how, so far, they have screwed up their venturing into entertainment.
