 SUMMARY OF IMPRESSIONS FROM "LOOKING BACK" (above)

 11/22 It was a better day than I anticipated but our 
    Optimism Index oozed a little lower on the bullish 
    scale and I think we're still consolidating.  The 
    dollar index dribbled lower, XGLD liked that and 
    XOI was positively ecstatic, closing at a new high.

 11/19 Our Confidence Index is retreating and our COMPOSITE 
    took a hard hit but they don't seem particularly severe 
    since the consolidation was expected and options 
    expiration after a strong run made this a tough day. 
    Today's hit was severe enough that even Ol' McClellan 
    stumbled.  The dollar index gave back yesterday's gain. 
    XGLD closed at a multi-year high.  XOI didn't make it 
    to a new high ... but it tried.

 11/18 The dollar index recovered yesterday's loss. 
    XGLD tapered off a trifle and XOI moved up near 
    the top of its trading range since late October.

 11/17 The TRIN/TRINQ Bretz numbers and VXN/VXO are 
    getting mighty low.  The bond index popped right 
    back up where it was a couple of weeks ago.  McClellan 
    is stair-stepping up and is nearing the early-year high. 
    The dollar index fell a half-a-buck.  XGLD gapped up 
    and ran and XOI had an 11-dollar run up.

 11/16 Ooooo, that's nice.  We have a nice orderly retreat 
    on slightly lower volume.  Our Confidence Index is headed 
    down and is still blaring an ALERT.  That doesn't mean 
    panic.  It's just trying to say we've had a very nice 
    run and should expect some consolidation.  The dollar 
    index didn't do much but XGLD was up over two and a half 
    dollars.  XOI fell a little to below 700.

 11/15 Our Confidence Index rose and gave another ALERT!  
    The dollar index stiffened its back and raised its 
    head a trifle.  XGLD was steady and XOI gave back all 
    of Friday's heady gain and a touch more.
