OT: I PROMISE THIS IS IT. No one would buy into businesses that paid you 3% or 2% in cash especially if it were going into a literally no growth economy, no real top line-I am not talking about CSCO or MSFT in 1992. But that is indexing in the S&P 500, there is really no growth. I think a bottom will actually produce yields of 6-10% in common stocks- I am not saying stocks always yield this or that....in real major bull markets ( this is not one) we have a 80's 90's expansion-jobs,productivity,....income gains,hence rising confidence and PE's, dividends.....nothing like this is taking place now. A solid Fed inspired rally from horribly oversold levels. I am blown away by the punch of layoffs to bottom lines but it is a one time gift from corporatism where the Fed Govt looks the other way and buys GM, AIG, FNM, FRE essentially C and BAC and keeps pumping money into states to prevent Armageddon.
