as I said, IMHO, central planning does not work. Interference in the natural order results in some form of exploitation. Private property, production, and voluntary exchange are the ultimate source of human civilization.

Taking the Constitution and the intent of the wise Founding Fathers seriously, it seems, the Federal Government has gotten involved in much more than ever intended. And worse, government is in the business of providing all kinds of entitlements. Do you think FDR and LBJ invisioned the combined programs of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid would consume almost 50% of the U.S. government's budget ? The original projections were almost immediatly shown to be flawed. Even as the underfunding became apparent, nothing was done. The FICA intake folded into the General Budget, leaving an IOU of debt. Can you dispute this assesment?
Neither (D) or (R) has acted responsibly, because massive centrally planned sweeping actions by ANY governement are destined to fail.

Choose which ever "special interest" you may, We the People are not well served when the government steers the market place instead of allowing millions and now billions of individuals to make the most advantageous decision, for themselves.

Should Government Pass Laws enforce and Regulate? YES!
Protect our borders and provide protection from foreign invaders?
YES!

Can Government be successful at Predicting the Future? NO
So how can they know what bane their wasteful, private sector altering "Programs" will deliver?

IF you were to take the time to understand what Thomas Jefferson and the others who risked everything to bring Liberty to our nation were saying, you would see that BIG GOVERNMENT was their greatest fear and that which they most ardently tried to protect WE THE PEOPLE FROM!!!
