Re: I share most of the opinions of the Founding Fathers so the Constitution, the D o I and Thomas Jefferson say it much better than could I.....

Well that's something I think we both embrace. The more intellectual conversation is how you feel the Constitution backs your assertions about government not having a place in moving the country towards a more competitive position when it comes to energy and technology.

My interpretation of the Constitution would be that the government For the People, and By the People has the ability to influence initiatives that may be against the special interests of a few corporations, as long as those same intitiatives are for the interests of everyone else in this country.

I believe moving our economy towards energy efficient technologies makes business sense, provides jobs for the future, and the most obvious, that energy is a commodity that we all depend on, and therefore, the U.S. needs to be an independent provider of it, as opposed to depending on foreign sources, as we do with fossil fuels.

The special interests usually include U.S. oil companies, who stand to benefit if most of the people are dependent on their product. But in terms of the country as a whole, I do not think America benefits from that direction - and I think it's consistent with the Constitution to do what's best for the country, and not what's best for Exxon-Mobile.
