On what planet? Increasing taxes has a reverse effect on the economy. It does increase revenues, but it means less money for people to spend on things. I'll say that targeted taxes to the wealthy still has merit, but isn't that already part of the proposed budget?

Government work isn't exactly like working on Wall Street. The salaries are barely enough to sustain a lower middle class income. We're not going to solve these problems by asking people who are struggling to sacrifice more. We really do need to look as spending cuts, or taxes that are targeted at high income people.
