If you are seeing that message then the BIOS is okay. It is detecting the hard drive attached to interface SATA-1. The so-called DOS message you are seeing is from the Windows boot loader and it cannot find the starting position for the Windows installation (the rest of Windows beyond the boot loader which is located in C:\ root directory). I think a repair with the Windows CD is in order. Insert the Windows CD and boot from it. If it won't boot from the CD, check the boot settings in the BIOS to make sure booting from the CD is enabled. When it gets to the setup screen there should be an option to repair the installation. Note: this is NOT The recovery option. When you select the repair option Windows should correct the boot loader configuration and allow it to boot from the hard drive again.
