regarding the last question,
apparently NSM did the work to make NSM's TPM work with IBM's TSS, that is NSM built the TPM Device Driver enabling interaction with a TCG compliant TSS, or something to that effect.

It definitely modifies my bipartite view of interoperability and migrates what I had considered a TSS requirement for such funtion to the TPM vendor, more or less.

The implication is that all components of the TCG platform or interchangeable EXCEPT for, apparently, the CSP, which is a point I have always generally accepted.

It actually simplifies the circumstance considerably IMO.
