they don't need MM's in this day and age

it can all be computerized with firms
tracking *trades*

however the system has to be changed first
so that every co. has their shares issued
serial no.s and every *share* is accounted for

meaning every share is tagged and id'd .. with
both a serial no. and a bar code that can be
scanned and tracked in an instant .. think of
library books .. video rentals and pkgs or mail
shipped thru the usps or fed ex

anyone at anytime can pull up the info on a specific
co.s stock and know exactly (well within 24 hours)
where all aspects of every share *stand*

that would eliminate forged stock certs .. NSS
and all the other crooked crap that passes for
normal in the US markets .. since the rise of
those unregulated hedge funds and it would get
MM's like *knight* off the hook for their *involvement*
known or unknown

if the SEC *insists* on retaining MM's then *one company*
shouldn't be allowed to have a monopoly because we can all
see what has happened there over the past few years

and it would appear due to *settlement* issues that knight/nite
needs to clean up their own *internals* so that what has come
to pass with both ST and TDA and *specific* penny stocks/co.s
doesn't come to pass .. again
