Shorting a stock is for sure legal.
Naked shorting a stock is for sure illegal.
And everyone that knows stocks, knows there is a problem with naked shorts, if not just ask the CEO of Overstock.com
Naked shorting is a HUGE problem with pinkies, and even higher cap stocks. Even with all the grumling and all the new laws about naked shorting, it is still not that inforceable. And even if it was inforceable, there is still the problem with all the stocks that were already NNS prior to the new rules, those that were already NNS may just have to cover if the stock's PPS has alot of attention, and that is a very good possibility with PYCT
