Sorry to hear that, maybe he can bond with another friend in the future.
I had two cats that were both former strays and lived outside more than anything and they were inseparable.
They did everything together eat,sleep,play,fight,climb trees and then one day pookie came up missing and OB was crestfallen, still is. I think a dog got'em while he was sleeping outside in the summer, he loved to be outside and could hardly stand to be in the house unless it was winter and even then he had to go outside in the snow where OB is right now.
I guess I should go and get him another buddy but I just thought another one would just show up and stick around like these two did.
It's been over a year now and animals need other animals.
I hate loosing pets.
