Without getting into the symbolism or semantics of December 25th, someone once told me that the "X" was not to blank-out or eliminate your messiah in disrespect, but that the "X" is actually a crucifix on its basic supports to remind you that Jesus Christ was a Jew brought into this world to be sacrificed for the sins of the world and that on Easter, the "X" is rotated and mofified to become the Cross. Not being steeped in superstition, I deal with the real world in a realistic way.

I was brought up to respect other people and to be tolerant of their beliefs. At Christmastime, we wished people who were Christians "Merry Xmas!" as that was the accepted, civil thing to do without implying any religious meaning to the friendly greeting. And my wishes to you were sincere; it is up to you to either accept them as offered or to nitpick them into some denial. All IMHO.
