Trust me you nailed it with those comments. Only a person who is actually needing it to go down would make comments that we have had a big run, and it needs to retreat. If you was really long that would be the fartherest thing from your mind. I suspect you would be like those who haven't shorted or sold calls or bought puts and think why the hell are we this cheap? What does a company have to do to get the stock back to where it was before the ITC ruling, which in actuality means zip but delay, as Merritt could not have been more clear ITS NOT ABOUT THE PATENTS AND VALIDITY, ITS ONLY ABOUT THE ECONOMICS. If IDCC wins at the appeals level, these same people will be declaring this means nothing, and guess what they will probably be right. Nokia has made up their minds they will not pay. They can lose and fight. This means to me Nokia really don't care if they win or lose in court as they still know they will be paying. It was Nokia who CLEARLY STATED IDCC OVERVALUED THEIR PATENTS, NOT THAT THEY DIDN'T INFRINGE.
How plain can it be to those who still think its a big loss for IDCC at the ITC and that the world will end. It meant about as much as this post meant in actuality, and Nokia just don't mind spending more money and causing IDCC to spend money hoping to break them down to a lower rate, and IDCC has said we got the money and the patent portfolio to go ever how long it takes. Its Nokia who can sooner or later face a ban. I still wish IDCC would sue the retailers as I think this is the best way to halt Nokia's attitude, and that would end the Nokia making profits and using the money to keep from paying. I have seen where IDCC wants the manufactures to pay and so do I, but I don't want the manufacture to be making money using my technology when I can nip it in the bud via retailers saying hopefully we see all your patents, and acknowledge you have so many others licensed and I have other products to sell, so we will no longer market Nokia phones that you are alledging infringement and risk our companies profits. We will be glad to put the Nokia products on the shelf when they settle or it is court resolved. Can anyone tell me how much money Nokia is presently paying IDCC? If the answer is zero then why should they make money when retailers and carriers could still make money and not be subjected to legal action? I know if I was a retailer and had plenty of other handsets to sell to make up the difference it would be no problem for me to remove the products or not sell them.
Instead of these people who say the stock is ready for a decline they don't seem to concentrate on all the positive things and why the stock should fundamentally be a whole lot higher. Nope they can't say anything negative about fundamentals, so now its forget the fundamentals, the stock just should be tired or is due to retreat. Why would they want to post these comments, sure don't sound like a real long wanting the stock higher but rather someone hoping it goes lower.
