OFC, I don't think they're that into Catholic bashing anymore. They seem to prefer gay bashing these days.
They've traded the "great satan" for the "sodomites."

It's easier to keep the flock together, if you tell them they're better than someone else or vilify someone else.
It's the psychological conditioning of organized religion.
