USB 3.0

I'm interested in when/if this may be implemented? I can't find much useful info using google.

Does anyone have any resource for when USB 3.0 will be released? I'm mainly interested in external disk storage, and when usb3.0 would be a 'standard' usb port on new PC's sold.
