If you find any programs that are incompatible you might as well uninstall them before doing the upgrade.

Put the disk in, follow the on-screen instructions and have at it. It will take a long time and you will wonder if it's hung up or failed since nothing visible is happening but don't worry, it just takes a while to finish.
