To me, meaningless would be a response rate that was the same as for the historical data; i.e., to treatment by docetaxel by itself. So it seems that either Bavi or the placebo effect is the cause of the better response rate, right?

No, that is not right. Comparing PPHM’s single-arm trial results to cherry-picked historical data means nothing, zilch, nada. Almost any drug candidate ever invented could be made to look good in this manner.

I can't conceive of folks like Dr. Chabner and Dr. Garnick risking their reputations by joining a loser, much less a scam, company.

If you had a dollar for every time someone has posted this sentiment on a biotech message board, you would probably be living on a tropical island.
