Playoff picks

Red Sox over Angels

Red Sox can't play defense (not that Anaheim can with particular distinction, either). But they can hit. And Curt and Pedro are going to be a lot of trouble for Jarrod Washburn and Bartolo Colon, two fine pitchers, but overmatched.

Twins over Yankees

Yankees rotation is broken, and the Twins' Johan Santana will win every game he starts. Yanks can hit, and their infield defense is finally good, but a short series is trouble, and the Yanks are deep in it.

Astros over Braves

Astros break through, finally. The series I know least about, which I expect will also be the best series of the lot.

Cardinals over Dodgers

Dodgers are just plain overmatched, in just about every facet of the game.
