F6, that's an encouraging point of view and I thank-you for it. I hope you're correct.

They already stole one election though, which leads me to think they would have little hesitation in doing so a second time.

They have also tried the terrorist alert/threat trick on more than one occasion and could do so again.

Both of the foregoing require the cooperation of only a small number of people within their immediate circle.

Something more nefarious (pulling a major terrorist out of the hat, staging/permitting an attack and/or cancelling/postponing the election) would require a broader level of participation. If they look weak, then it might make it more difficult to pull one of these off.
