Excellent take on last night's debate.

Boosh did well by staying "on message", but that was his problem. The message is based on a fantasy based on a lie based on a fraud based on a hoax. When he ran out of things to say, he simply reverted to his canned "message".

Nevertheless, there is a solid percentage of the American electorate who fail to recognize such distinctions.

Kerry did very well and exceeded expectations - meaning he won. He's in it and his campaign is very much alive. Living to fight another day is a victory in and of itself. Motivating one's supporters and making a good impression - making voters comfortable with him - adds to the importance of Kerry's "win".

Bush often looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

Kerry looked confident, even when his arguments were occasionally weak.

If Kerry gets a strong surge in the polls from this and it is sustained, the Boosh campaing is going to have to implement Plan B. Electoral hanky-panky, terrorist scare/alert, pull a big name terrorist out of the hat, phony up an attack and/or cancel/postpone the election.

If the spread gets more than about 53% - 47% in Kerry's favor, one of the latter becomes more likely in the last two weeks before the election, IMO.
