infinite: Good analysis. The first thing I looked for in the ID was how did the ALJ end up defining "apparatus" as only applying to a base station. As you stated, he didn't define "apparatus" based on the intrinsic meaning of the word, but contrived a definition based on his reading of supposedly amplifying wording in the claims and specifications.

I have no comments regarding the technical nature of his comments, but I did notice that he seemed to rely on the testimony of Nokia's expert witness, KAKAES. In fact when he referred to the testimony of IDCC's witness, GITLIN, he often used it point out where it supported his opinion, rather than IDCC's proposed construction.
