In response to your comment, below, 73tats, I agree it is harder to get a loan these days but we were in that state when the 7/28 ceremony took place and surely the masterminds behind this knew it would take the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Federal funds to largely back this project - which leads me to a question which I need to address to the only 2 people I know of who post here, who attended the ceremony:
DOC & GATOR: Did Rep. Yonts, the Senator and Dr. Peters speak from the podium at the groundbreaking? If so, did they speak about the financial backing they were going to see that this project obviously needed to get off the ground?
I mean, they should not have sat there and promised those people jobs and not addressed how it was going to be funded. Did the guys from KFA address funding? What in the world did they say that attributed to how this new HOPE would get in gear and start moving ahead?
I think my questions are legit and those of us here would only know by those attending sharing what in the world was said from their mouths. I wouldn't think that would be out of the ordinary for the Sec. of Energy to say something like, "We have appropriated such and such dollars to this project in order to ensure its success," you know, something like that.
"I believe that borrowing money presently, if not impossible, is nearly impossible, unless the State of Kentucky and/or the Federal Government finances the start up, of the CTL project."
