Mainehiker, I'm having a little trouble making sense of that quote, "you are running out of time to get out...i didnt sadly....," etc. Are you sure you have that right? I don't remember hearing that, and it doesn't make sense. Brinker was down to 35% equities (65% cash) in August of 2000, which would hardly have been something to be sad about.

Other than that, your recounting of Brinker's record sounds right, although I should point out that he has admitted being wrong about QQQ on both the radio program and in the newsletter, on more than one occasion.

BTW, there are issues relating to Brinker that are relevant to this thread. The Web seems to attract a certain number of people who carefully leave out anything Brinker has done right. (I'm not saying you're one of them.) Some people like to do the same with Zeev, although he is a lot better than Brinker about publicly acknowledging his errors.

One important lesson is that with any market "guru," one must strive to analyze their work in as unbiased a way as possible, not for the guru's sake, but for the benefit of one's own portfolio.
