for a long it is encouraging. for a seller it could be discouraging. for a buyer it could also be discouraging.

a buy order will only be filled by matching to sell orders. mm may not be obliged to fill a limit buy order.

a sell order at bid, will be hard to fill if a buyer is not at that bid with an equal or greater order size. if it does not get filled at the bid, mm will make that sell order at bid, into the ask, then drop the bid lower than the last bid. this forces a new seller or the existing seller to chase that lower bid. this happens when mm does not buy shares from sellers due to no buyers. the past 4 days mm has not been buying these shares. the buys at ask have also diminished in the last 3-4 days. one good reason, could be that short sell orders have diminished- again encouraging for the long.
