The school seige was timed to postpone Putin’s trip to Turkey and discussion of the Trans-Thracian pipeline which it did much to the delight of the United States. One should note the preceding airliner explosions coincided with Putin’s Sochi meeting with President Jacques Chirac of France and Chancellor Gerhard Schröder of Germany, another event the United States did not want to take place.

edit: The Chechen elections were also taking place at the same time and they were considered the reason for the terrorist attacks. Behind the scenes what I have logged was also taking place. Two birds one stone.

After the Sochi meeting Putin was scheduled to visit Turkey. Turkey is considered a "reliable ally" of the U.S. and Germany--it is firmly dominated by U.S. and German imperialism and overseen by a fascist military that operates within NATO. Putin was now not only forging an alliance with both Germany and Turkey there is a pipeline involved.

Another timely attack from the past.
Because of events in Chechnya the Grozny pipeline apparently was closed in favor of the U.S. backed Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. One of the primary reasons it seems that we are backing the Chechen rebels and thus responsible for the deaths of the Russian school children.

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania left for the Azerbaijani capital Baku on September 20 in order to participate in official ceremonies commemorating the 10th anniversary of the signing of the so called “Contract of the Century,” which envisaged the export of Azeri oil to the western markets via Georgia and Turkey.

The Georgian Prime Minister is expected to hold talks with Azeri officials over the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which is scheduled to begin delivering Azeri oil to western markets in 2005.
