Morning, Dan and Bruce. If you are up at this time, you have seen the nice left turn that Ivan has made. All I can say is, there must be a very powerful holy man living in Jamaica, because I have never seen the likes of that timing of a sharp turn of a hurricane path.
I am not a weatherman, but watch how that high to the right of the Florida seems to compress the feeder band above and to the right of IVAN. And then when the high stretches out to the left and over Cuba, it sure seems to have the effect of turning IVAN to the left. Hopefully, the damn thing is now headed to some remote, uninhabited jungle area.
My guess is--even as I look at the usual "Cone of Death" painted right up our alley by the weather channel-- our homes here in west-central Florida have virtually no chance now of being hit by hurricane force winds.
I will, however, remain watchful and run like a scared jackrabbit if I am wrong -- in edit-- and I will head North-g
