Let's simplify that a bit.

The site went off-line. As did my connection. The ISP told me it was a router problem and that until they replaced the router, we were all disconnected from the 'net.

I related what I was told and what I observed and you wanted to tell me I was wrong and that what'd really happened was that the site had been hacked. Although now it seems the tune has changed to the ISP itself being hacked.

To the best of my recollection, this is the 2nd time there has been an outage this year that was due to the ISP.

The other outages have been specific to the computers we're using and have not been the results of hacking.

I would know, and it floors me that you'd think you'd know better than I on this one.
