I just listened to the interview. Sounds like he and Pickens are neighbors. The apparent giant discoveries in Kentucky and N. La that have been recently gotten press are I understand in fairly impervious rock and shale so there may be some issue of recoverability. I also read an account that the 200TCF for N La was greatly exaggerated that the number was more like 15TCF or so. Assuming however that the larger numbers are more correct and that much of it will be recoverable using the best technology then I don't know why the the car and gas cos would need much support from Washington. Obviously gas stations would need NG disposal pumps but that's a private investment. Existing cars would need to be retrofitted to run on NG but Pickens said that is a 150 dollar cost. Some new gas lines would be needed but that's traditionally a private investment. If some financial incentives were needed, and I'm not sure that they are, I would think Congress would be amenable.
