Let me 'splain this to you, and I will type real slow, now.

Sun has had the ability to port Solaris to x86 for at least 3 years.

Solaris is nothing more than Unix with a sun front end. But sun sells Hardware. It uses Solaris to sell its hardware, where it makes its sustainable market niche profit.

When apple tried to lease out its operating system, it too saw the writing on the wall, and it is the same writing for Sunw. If you can buy a $2000 server to run solaris, why spend a Million dollars for a sun system?

For you to be so friggin' RUDE in your responses should be if it is not already, a violation of the Rules.

Further, your smart ass retorts don't contribute to the Board.

We all all want valid information.

We should not care which way the evidence points from a reasoned point of view. That can come from a well reasoned opinion by someone who is specially knowledgeable in the subject matter with an unemotional view of the facts, or someone who can cite to proper authority. Your smart ass retorts evidence neither.

But I mean that in the nicest possible way.
