Need help with mouse

Last year I conected a "logitech cordless optical" mouse to my Sony laptop, running on WinXP.When I placed Logitech I did not down-load the program cd that comes with it, and I just allowed the laptop pickup the new device. Yesterday I removed the cordless mouse conection from laptop,and I noticed that I have lost the Laptops original mouse and buttons!! How I may get them back? Thanks
