I like it. I've been running it since the first beta was made public several months ago. It takes some getting used to if you still run XP but it's very similar to Vista. There have been a few glitches along the way and I'm sure everyone's experience will be different. It is free to anyone that wants to try it for about the next year. You did not have to try the earlier beta. After that it will shut down every two hours for a period of time (they say you will be notified two weeks in advance) until you purchase a real license. I assume it will get disabled completely after the shutdown time if you don't buy. It's got some cool features, but remember, it's not a finished product (but very usable). It is a test product and not designed to be your only operating system so everything isn't always going to work. They are doing this so the product can be tested in real world settings and get as many bugs out of the product before asking for your bucks.
